King’s College London School of Medicine is one of the country’s largest and oldest medical schools, with a history that can be traced back several centuries. The School receives more applications for medicine than any other UK medical school and has the highest number of entry routes to its MBBS programme. Plans to develop an Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC) took a step forward today with the announcement of a name, ‘King’s Health Partners’, and Vice-Principal (Health) Professor Robert Lechler confirmed as Interim Director.
The College is offering 50 PhD studentships in the Health Schools. Awards are mainly available for four years, and include an annual stipend and tuition fees.
Janice Rymer, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology received an award for new ideas on communication in medicine at the Bupa Foundation awards ceremony held last week.
