The Student Advice Service is a professional service offering free, impartial and confidential advice, guidance and representation on a range of practical issues for both current and prospective students and staff.

We hope that your time at King's College is enjoyable, fulfilling and rewarding. Our aim is to facilitate this by providing advice and essential information in relation to a wide range of welfare and practical issues to ensure that they do not become a barrier to your academic performance and personal development.
The wide range of issues we deal with include:
  • international student support
  • immigration issues
  • student finance
  • money management and debt advice
  • social security and disability benefits
  • housing rights
  • consumer law
  • much more

For more information on some of the areas of advice work we deal with please follow the links on the left of this page. Information provided by the Student Advice Service on our web pages is intended only as a basic guide. For detailed advice and assistance you are strongly encouraged to make contact with one of the Student Advisers.

Student Advisers operate one-to-one interviews, telephone and email advice which often leads to ongoing casework where the adviser may act on the clients’ behalf in order to rectify the problem.

The Student Advice Service also engages in proactive advice by running workshops and campaigns with other departments within the College. In addition, the service monitors changes in relevant legislation in order to keep both the student body and the College informed of government policy changes which have the potential to impact on ones personal life or study.
